PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE WITH NETFLIX

PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE WITH NETFLIX

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex- who quit the British royal family and shifted to California this year- launched their new Hollywood careers on 2nd September, 2020, signing a deal with Netflix to produce 'impactful' films and series for the streaming giant.

This 'impactful' films and series initially will be on a nature documentary series and an animated series focused on inspiring women. Apart from that, scripted series, feature films and children's programs are expected to be produced.

This is a multi year deal and exclusive to Netflix. No further financial terms were disclosed.

The desire of couple to produce in Hollywood had long been rumoured with reports of meeting taking place in recent weeks with Disney, Apple and NBC Universal.

Harry recently appeared in Paralympic documentary film 'Rising Phoenix'. While, Markle - who earlier acted in television and drama- narrated a wild life documentary for Disney and has no plans to return to acting.

The pair always have an ambition to do something of meaning or to do something that matters. So, they worked with a charity to provide meals to chronically ill people in Los Angeles and are launching a wide ranging non profit organisation, perhaps named after their son Archie as 'Archewell'.

This deal is a coup for Netflix, particularly when it is getting strong challenges from the rivals, such as Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Sony PlayStation, Disney etc.

Now, will this agreement help Netflix to sweep the streaming market or not?
